Charlie Vintage Pinup Sketch  Got something actually sketched up! Again, spent more time poring through my favs on Tumblr and devouring more vintage livingrooms/furniture and pinups.  Still working towards that quest of finding what I like about drawing and comics again. My plan is to try the whole lineless/construction-paper look to this one, too. It’d be nice to get it done in time for posting up Monday on the site to give an update to all the people waiting for the next page and at least let them know “hey, no page coming anytime soon”.

Slip Pinup


Another piece from a year and a half ago. 

Fun fact! This actually started as a sketch of Charlie. Then I chickened out because it’s completely out of character - even though I like using her as a model as if the actor was real and poses for photos. I’ve done that before for some pinups, but when things get into too much lingerie I tend to change the model. 

There’s a few other shots like this that started as Charlie. I thinking there’s one more that I’ll probably post up.

About a year and a half ago I tried some pinup experiments, and this was one of the few finished ones.  I really like off-center shots, and moodier kind of pinups that have a little more attitude to them. That’s kind of the awesome thing about smoking - it instantly upsets a lot of people which makes it a very passively punk-rock thing to do in a picture.  I kinda wish I drew noses like this more often. One of the few noses I’ve drawn that I think I like.

(Pinup Alert! Underwear and stuff.) So the whole watercolour brushes thing has been a rollercoaster. I’ve spent most of a day working on this and probably doesn’t show for it at all (there are a pile of different versions to these colours sitting in layers). I’m not super-talented with colouring, so when I experiment it tends to take a while. This is using all the same colours I use for Brightest, though, which is kind of interesting. Inspired by all the chubby/fat/bbw Tumblr accounts I’ve been digging around on the last few days. There’s some great fashion and great shots out there.
