Tuxedo Corset / Smoke Break Pinup Kept rolling with the fancy corsets and settings. I was going to do more of a ballroom kind of shot with a tuxedo-themed corset, but then I found a great shot of this dilapidated wood staircase and though a smoke break with a cigar would suit it much better.  More Tumblr-inspired images.  I’ve also come up with possibly the best name for a pin-up series/studio. Maybe if I do enough of these I can compile them or something.

Bows and Corsets Pinup First full picture I’ve finished from scratch since the last page of the comic in November. Whew! I’ve done this kind of pinup a lot the last year - I’ve grown a love of vintage wallpaper and furniture and fashion/lingerie to match up with my love of pinups and curvy ladies and corsets. Also, really love drawing super-thick legs. This was inspired solely by browsing through corset and burlesque groups on Tumblr. If only I could write a story that involved nothing but vintage wallpaper, rooms, and corsets. That would be pretty awesome, but it would probably take five years to draw. (Also worth noting that this isn’t Charlie. Sure it’s basically her body, AND it’s a red-head, but I just like drawing that shape, and this doesn’t really suit her.)

First full picture I’ve finished from scratch since the last page of the comic in November. Whew!

I’ve done this kind of pinup a lot the last year - I’ve grown a love of vintage wallpaper and furniture and fashion/lingerie to match up with my love of pinups and curvy ladies and corsets. Also, really love drawing super-thick legs.

Charlie Winter Fashion This isn’t quite the look I was wanting (I really wanted to try much more simplistic shading where just sections are shaded instead of definitions shaded, but I always fail at simplifying), but it feels really good to get something NOT a comic page drawn. (Pinup Alert! Underwear and stuff.) So the whole watercolour brushes thing has been a rollercoaster. I’ve spent most of a day working on this and probably doesn’t show for it at all (there are a pile of different versions to these colours sitting in layers). I’m not super-talented with colouring, so when I experiment it tends to take a while. This is using all the same colours I use for Brightest, though, which is kind of interesting. Inspired by all the chubby/fat/bbw Tumblr accounts I’ve been digging around on the last few days. There’s some great fashion and great shots out there.
